Doolin tourist & visitor information

Doolin is located on the north west coast of the Burren. The town is an excellent place to stay in the Burren. Doolin has a large selection of Bed and Breakfasts and there are some nice hotelsin the area. There are a number of self catering cottages and apartments in the area and a caravan park and campsite just a little up the road in Fanore. There is a lively nightlife in the town during the tourist season and the locals are friendly and helpful to all their visitors. The Doolin ferry gives visitors the option of a relaxing day or two on the Aran islands.

If your interested in hill walking or guided cycling or walking tours there are a number of local resources and guides in the area. If golf is your passion a trip to Lahinch is a must though you will need to book well in advance to get a tee time during the season.

There are a number of interesting tourist sites and visitor attractions in the immediate surrounds of Doolin. If you have time Caherconnell Stone Fort (below) is an interesting and unique chance to examine life in the Burren past and present.
